Hey friends. I know a lot of you are upset and saying there’s no makeup on my eBay store but that’s because people purchased it all within the first 2 hours that this video was up. If you “follow” my store, you will see more! I’m constantly getting rid of makeup. Xoxo
Was thinking recently about my first mascara-Maybelline, in a red plastic slide out case with a tiny brush. I would buy it again if it came back.
It is completely empty. I was hoping for some of that equipment you some of…
Besame is a latina owned makeup brand and is Spanish for kiss me.
Mercari girl. Get your bags 💰💰💰💀
Will the mascara be better for people who don’t use mascara on a regular basis?
This was used well into the 60s. I used Maybelline cake mascara in high school and college – thru the late 60s.
Cake mascara never really had such high walls in the packaging, I don’t think, so of course it ends up awkward to use unless it’s packaged similar to a single eye shadow.
That’s so interesting!! Thank you for sharing 🙂
That’s cool. Now I want to ask my nana and omma about their makeup.
My grandmother used cake mascara into the 90s (not sure if it was still sold or just an old pan that she had had for forever). I remember the little pan and everything. Its funny I haven’t thought of that memory in so long. Thank you. ❤
So interesting. Thanks for sharing. I never knew Maybelline had a mascara like that
Fun fact (well fun for Marvel geeks like me): Marvel used Besame for Peggy Carter’s make up on her show and Captain America for authenticity.
I’ve always loved her eye makeup!!! Fabulous! This fact alone is going to make me buy the product 😁
Lisanne Nauta sorry I didn’t see you question until now. They used Besame Red Velvet.
That’s super cool.
I’d love if more channels did classics like this. I never used it but I’ve always wondered what my grandma’s and great grandma’s used
also if y’all didn’t know they didn’t they made an agent carter line ! with her shades of lipstick and shadows.
Please do the 1945 YouTubers – that would be hilarious! This line would be a great addition to props in shows that take place during the era…
Taylor R.S I collect Australian Home Journals and the ads crack me up. There’s this one for “Bile Beans” which is basically weight loss laxatives
@Kasey horrible histories already did it
Please please do this Jamie it would be so interesting!
Karol is żebrowska does similar with vintage eras (more clothing though but I think she’s done one or two makeup)
My mom has been going over Life Magazines from the 1940s and she was having a heart attack over the beauty standards. I love this too 😍
Besame Cosmetics is the makeup brand where if I had money to blow, I would buy their whole set of lipsticks just because of how pretty the packaging is!
The lipsticks are wonderful–worth every penny. I save mine for more special occasions, and these days I never use it for work because I have to wear face covering anyway.
The lipsticks are my favorite of all time and worth the investment! (I only have 5)
@Sabrina Hawk Their contour brush is one of my favorites for blending foundation. Very expensive, but it’s a versatile brush that works well. It also looks beautiful displayed on a vanity.
The lipsticks are the star of the show with them all the research into the pigments is so cool
Me too! I bought last year’s victory collection and I can’t bring myself to use them. The package is so pretty, I don’t want to ruin it.
Cake mascara sounds way better than throwing away and getting a new tube after 3 months (or longer if you like that risk!)
I can actually smell old tube mascara, just thinking about it. Yikes. I’m amazed I’ve never gotten an eye infection. I’m gonna get some cake mascara!
@GeminiStargazer I found mascara that must be 12 year old, I found a bag containing that and old urban decay eyeshadow, like really old stuff in the metal pots with cardboard boxes instead of the new plastic pots in plastic boxes 😆
@GeminiStargazer great lash mascara. 🤣🤣🤣
@Shelby Matthews Urquhart I thought it is 6 months, too! Honestly, that’s what I’ve heard and done without problem! I wouldn’t worry 🤷
My mascara is like 8 months old lol it’s in it’s prime of life hahaha
The purple highlighter bit reminds me of Edward Scissorhands, where the Avon lady mom it just trying to get the tone for his face right but ends up making his face purple.
Leeber Snowy totally! “Blend, blend, blend. Blending is the secret”. 😂😂😂
Bésame is Spanish for Kiss Me!
Jess Camisa sounds like the Pashto word for shirt, which is camis! The Italian word for room (camera), sounds like the Pashto word for room (camra)
@J.R.R yeah it’s really cool 😀
Jess because the Arabic language mixed with Spanish between the 700s and 1400s during the Islamic expansion. We still share about 50 words or so 🙂
uwu owo All the words we share is insane. I think we also share the word pantalones or Camisa ? Spanish for pants and shirt, and Azúcar? Sugar in Spanish.
@Jaime French in Italy we say Baciami 🙂
Yesss do if youtubers exsisted in 1945! Omg yes please!
Chyna Desrosiers that’s such a great idea! Yes please Jamie! X
Women used to SPIT in cake mascara to apply in a pinch – can you imagine?? They also spit in cake liner, which was sold as a separate product. These products were still popular when I came into makeup as a young girl.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, eyeeee styeeeees
Mary Kay makeup (eyeshadow) you had to wet to use it. I remember my Mom having parties for people that sold it or we would go to parties for my Mom to buy stuff😁
@Redneck Beauty with Debra I recall girls doing that in the junior-high and highschool restrooms with pencil eyeliners, lol. I graduated in 1987, so… kind of a while ago?!?
Debra Kiddy-Sheets Omg you just sent me straight back to my junior H.S. Bathroom with 20 girls fighting for an inch of mirror space after they lit their eyeliner!!! Omg memory lane!
@Angie There is a YTer….younger girl that licks her brushes and I swear I can not remember which one it is!?!? She even looks at the monitor like….”Ehhhh if you don’t like it don’t look”. Dang I wish I could remember who it is!?!?!
For the cake mascara, I use an empty eye dropper bottle for the water to avoid having to get a cup of water every time.
OMG, you’re a genius! I have brown glass bottles and unused droppers from my daughter’s meds! That would look so much better on my dressing table than a cup of water! I love you for this! Thank you!!
I didn’t even know they still made cake mascara. I use to love that stuff in the 70s. I’m going to buy some and see if I still do
This is a fantastic hack thank you!
Angie I was going to suggest this for cake mascara too!!!!
chrissyzcreationz this is a GREAT idea. I am definitely stealing it for my cake mascara 😊
“You have to make this face when you apply it.”
*CONTINUES TO MAKE SERIAL KILLER FACE* 😂
The “rouge” for blush made me have flashbacks of my dad calling anything you put on your face “cover up”…foundation, concealer or powder was all cover up…then there was rouge and mascara…that’s it lol
My high school art teacher used to say “Questions? Comments? Cuss Words?”
That is awesome and I’m gonna use it always now!!!!
I love how Jennifer Coolidge comes out sometimes when your talking..I’m so glad your videos are not the same boring crap as other beauty channels.
Jamie : Activates mascara with water.
Also Jamie : wonders if the mascara is waterproof…
🤣
Please, please, please do a make up video of the 40s. That would be amazing! Then do 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s!!! Oh, and Besame is Spanish for “kiss me”
Priscilla Cartagena I totes want to!
This would be great for Jaime to do💕 I would love to see her interpretation of makeup through the decades💕
Besame cosmetics are amazing, so beautiful and the owner puts so much time and effort into the formulas. The lavender powder is perfect for my very pale skin, use it with a very light hand and fluffy brushes, or a tiny amount on the puff. The mascara is best if you use a dropper to add the water so you be precise, I like to use it with a clean mascara wand from a mascara I previously loved (one of the max factor mascaras). I bend it like you did and build it up. I think your application with the disposable mascara wand was the problem here. I’ve not tried the rouge yet but I have heard it makes a great lip stain if applied lightly.
You should look into the lipsticks and eyeshadows. The lipstick are formulated in the exact colours of vintage lipsticks from the 20s through to the 60s. I love vintage beauty products, there is an etsy shop which sells vintage products from the victorian era formulated from exact recipes, I love it!
Also I love your chanel and watching you really brightens my day, sending you much love from the UK 🇬🇧
@Hannah Zayy try the seller Little Bits
Ooohhhh whats the name of the Etsy shop?
If beauty you tubers existed in 1945 YES PLEASE.
Most people on eBay post things even if swatched, they just mark it as new (see details) and write it in the description, eBay don’t do anything xD
Should report it. The team will handle it.
